Observation 3

Make a brief chronological, outline of the class period below.
4) Teacher-centeredness vs Student-centeredness
Young-Gil's teaching style was "Teacher-centeredness".
He taught English words used the way of inference that students look sample sentences and then think about the meaning of the words.
In this class, students and teacher didn't talk each other.
The only time they want to talk each other was when teacher asked something, students answered.
They didn't have any debate or talking in the class.
Write any additional notes here.
Young-Gil's class seems "one-way" teaching to deliver information.
Of course, students age is pretty old, (he prepared his class for adults.) so it's okay.
But, in my point of view, his teaching way can be boring and students can lose their interest of English.
So, the communucation of teacher and students is very important for the interest of English.
If this class filled with "communication between teacher and students" and "picture or something", it would be much memorable to students.

  1. Nice analysis. I think you grasped and expressed the basic change in English language teaching: a move from teacher-centered to student centered. I especially liked how you offer alternatives to move it from a t-centered to ss-centered.
